Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how Verbose, Inc., a Delaware corporation and agentic customer-experience platform, handles personal information across our websites and Service.

1. Introduction

Verbose, Inc. (“Verbose,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Delaware corporation that operates an agentic customer-experience platform. Our AI agents hold two-way conversations over SMS and voice on behalf of our business customers — qualifying leads, answering questions, triaging, booking, and following up.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information in connection with our websites and platform (the “Service”). It does not override any separate agreement between Verbose and a business customer.

2. Our roles: controller and processor

When we handle personal information about visitors to our websites and about the individuals who administer our customers’ accounts, we act as a data controller. When our customers use the Service to converse with their own leads and customers, we process the personal information in those conversations as a processor/service provider on the customer’s behalf and in accordance with our agreement with that customer. This Policy describes our controller activities; our processor activities are governed by the customer’s instructions and any data processing addendum (DPA).

3. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account & contact data — name, work email, company, phone number, and role, provided when you request a demo, create an account, or contact us.
  • Conversation content — the SMS and voice messages, transcripts, recordings, and related metadata processed on behalf of our business customers, who determine how that content is used.
  • Usage & device data — log data, IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and analytics events, collected automatically when you use our websites or Service.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — as described in the “Cookies” section below.
  • Information from third parties — for example, from our customers, telephony/SMS carriers, and service providers, as needed to provide the Service.

4. How we use information

  • provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service;
  • route, respond to, and analyze conversations for our customers, and provide them with analytics and reporting;
  • communicate with you about demos, support, security, and product updates;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • meet legal, regulatory, and carrier (10DLC) compliance obligations, including opt-out and suppression handling; and
  • with your consent, for other purposes disclosed at the time.

5. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Service); our legitimate interests (to secure, operate, and improve the Service and to communicate with business contacts); compliance with a legal obligation; and your consent where required (for example, certain marketing or cookies). Where we act as a processor, our customer determines the legal basis.

6. How we share information

We share personal information with:

  • Service providers / subprocessors — such as cloud hosting, telephony/SMS carriers, and analytics providers, who act on our instructions under contract;
  • Our business customers — for conversations conducted on their behalf;
  • Legal & safety — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service; and
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.

7. Cookies & analytics

Our websites use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, to remember preferences (including your assigned home-page experience), and to measure aggregate usage through privacy-focused analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required.

8. Messaging, consent & opt-out

Where Verbose sends messages on a customer’s behalf, that customer is responsible for obtaining any legally required consent. Recipients can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP (or a similar keyword); opt-outs are honored and suppressed automatically. Message and data rates may apply. Calls may be recorded or transcribed where permitted by law and configured by the customer.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or de-identify it. Business customers may configure retention for the conversation data they control, subject to their agreement with us. We retain website and account data in accordance with our internal retention schedules.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information — including multi-tenant isolation, role-based access control, encryption in transit, and scoped, revocable API keys with signed webhooks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International data transfers

We are based in the United States and may process personal information in the U.S. and other countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell or share); and to withdraw consent. You also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

To exercise a right regarding information we control, contact us using the details below; we will verify your request as required by law. For conversation data controlled by one of our business customers, please contact that customer, and we will assist them as their processor. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. U.S. state privacy notices

Residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights described above, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of sale/sharing and certain profiling. Verbose does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise your rights as described in the “Your privacy rights” section, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted.

14. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or the age defined by applicable law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Third-party links

Our websites and the Service may link to third-party sites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
